IMAX is lucky to have a rep force full of energetic and interesting people. It’s true! Each rep has their own story to tell of what makes them who they are. To help you get to know our sales team a little better, we decided to feature a rep each month right here on our blog.
We would like to introduce you to Michelle Blalock, our September rep of the month!
We’ve asked Michelle a few questions, and posted her answers below. After you get to know her, if you like Michelle as much as we do (and we know you will), be sure to say “hi” in the comments section below the post.
How long have you worked with your sales group?
I have been with In-Detail since it started back in 1996, so 16 years!
How long have you worked as a sales representative?
I have been a rep for 18 years, my how time flies when you are having fun!

… it ships fast , it pays fast, it looks great and I just love everyone there!

… I love working with people; getting to help my customers build their business is very rewarding.
What do you like most about your job?
My customers and all the great people I work with at In-Detail, we are like family we have been together so long.
What do you like least about your job?
Being away from home so much.
What is your favorite stress releaser? i.e. At the end of a long road trip, long day, long market or tough sales month?
My stress releaser is tennis, I love to play and since it is with my friends we usually make a party out of it!
You travel on the road and to markets – what is your favorite travel tip that you would like to share?
Priceline for hotels would be the best tip I have given many reps, it has changed the quality of hotels I get to stay at for the price!
Fill in the blanks: When I go to market, I always eat too much, but I never have time to exercise. I wish could magically make calories not count that are eaten at market.
What are some of your best retailers doing to be successful?
Facebook has been the best thing to happen to my stores, it lets the customers feel connected to the store and it is free advertising. What a win-win!
What are retailers in your area asking for?
More customers at the moment, it has been a long hot slow summer.
What is the funniest or most interesting thing a customer has ever said to you?
Would you come decorate my house? I feel like I have picked up a few tips over the years but I am by no means a designer!
If you could have any position, career or job, what would it be?
I actually feel blessed, I have my dream job. What’s not to love?
Name something on your bucket list.
I would love to go to Australia and I would like to zip-line in Costa Rica.
Tell us about your children/family/pets.
My life at home is pretty simple, it is just me and my dogs Rudy and Charlie. I have tons of awesome friends and am blessed to still have my parents close by. It’s a wonderful life!
