Team Trisha in the High Point IMAX Showroom

Great cause, great shirts, great party.

IMAX calls on John 3:16’s BeeLoved Trading social enterprise for Trisha Yearwood Tailgate party staff t-shirts.
IMAX needed t-shirts for our staff to wear during an upcoming party to promote Tailgate, one of the new home decor collections by Trisha Yearwood being introduced at High Point Market in April. Designed with entertaining in mind, Tailgate embodies the spirit of sporting events, concerts, and get-togethers with fashion and flair. So, naturally, sports-inspired jersey type t-shirts would be the perfect attire to complement both the collection and the tailgate event.

Senior Art Director Colleen Stiles had a great design ready to go for “Team Trisha,” but who could we entrust with our creative vision? Who could provide quality screenprinting in our hour of need? Did I mention that we only had a short window of time? Thankfully, we knew somebody that knew somebody. IMAX graphic designer, Deanna Taylor had previously worked with and recommended BeeLoved Trading, a social enterprise by John 3:16 Mission in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

BeeLoved Trading provides vocational training for the homeless, recovering addicts, and under-resourced men, women, youth and children in the surrounding community. One of the primary vocations they teach is beekeeping, which provides a line honey-related product for sale. Another job-skill they train in is screen printing, with 100% of profits from projects going back into the program to benefit those they serve.

Above and beyond learning the hard skills – the technical processes of beekeeping or screenprinting or running a business – the workers in training also learn good work habits, workplace confidence, self-care, the importance of showing up, working with others as a team, leadership skills, and so much more. All of the skills necessary to create a sustainable life as they take the next steps into building their future role in the community.

Long story long, these folks did a fabulous job with the Trisha’s Tailgate t-shirts, turning around our order in a very short timeframe, and we got to feel all the feelings by supporting a worthy cause close to home. Now to get some of that honey in the office break room.
