STANDING UP FOR CHANGE

A Statement from our CEO regarding recent events

As an industry, and community, we have all watched with broken hearts as our country has been roiled by the loss of trust between citizens and the institutions sworn to protect us. This conversation transcends business, politics, and more because it centers around the value of human life and requires us to empathize with those who experience discrimination and police violence disproportionately.

Headquartered in Tulsa, Ok, the site of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, these issues are especially close to home. We at IMAX whole-heartedly support and empathize with the peaceful demonstrations demanding justice for George Floyd and others impacted by systematic discrimination. We stand behind our employees, customers, and friends by saying BLACK LIVES MATTER and also acknowledge there is work we must do to make our company, and this industry, a more inclusive space for Black businesses, designers, and consumers.

What makes this industry amazing are the diverse and creative minds that propel innovation and inspire change – we believe a more inclusive environment can benefit us all. We are listening, we are learning, and we are reflecting on how we can and will do better to help move our industry and this nation forward.

ONLINE SHOPPING 101: MAKE A WISHLIST

THE WISHLIST IS YOUR ONLINE SHOPPING FRIEND

Our user-friendly website offers an array of features to make your online shopping experience fun, easy and productive. You can shop by browsing through product categories and trend collections or use the catalog flipbooks. Robust search capabilities allow you to search by color, material, type and more.

Regardless of your preferred method of perusing the site, you’ll find the Wishlist feature to be a very handy resource. It’s like the friend you take shopping, only to hold all of the awesome things you want to try on.

Located at the top right of every page, the Wishlist is a great tool for designers working on customer projects or for buyers planning upcoming purchases. The Wishlist keeps your favorite products curated together – but separate from your shopping cart – until you’re ready to order.

Use the Create PDF option to save a .pdf tear sheet of the items in your Wishlist with or without wholesale pricing, for yourself or a client. You can also modify the layout to view 1, 2, 4, or 6 up images per page and sort to by SKU or by the order in which products were added. Download the pdf for yourself or email it to a client.

Creating a Wishlist is easy and can be accomplished in a couple of different ways. If you already know the SKUs you want, you can add them all at once to the Wishlist window, or you can add products individually as you browse the site by clicking on the little heart icon in the upper right-hand corner of the product photo. The heart turns to solid purple, confirming the addition of the item to your list.

YOUR OFFICE, YOUR RULES OF STYLE

See how our team transformed one home office into four uniquely styled settings

With so many of us now working remotely, it’s the perfect time to think about creating a home office space you’ll love. Having a dedicated area to keep you motivated and focused can be a challenge, especially when that often requires using a makeshift space. The good news is that even one corner of a room can be transformed into a productivity haven with a few basic pieces and the right accessories.

For this exercise in style, we chose the IMAX Farm Work Desk (47754), as our anchor piece and designed four very different styles around it.

Eclectic Boho

(Pictured above) Even if you don’t have a scenic view outside your window, you can easily create a beautiful, down-to-earth workspace. Soothing greens with pops of orange and gold bring life to the walls, while a few houseplants help to relieve stress and increase focus by bringing a bit of the outdoors in. Add a few organizational baskets and trunks, and you have a cozy, peaceful home office in perfect harmony with home and nature.

Industrial

Trade out the accessories, and the space becomes an Industrial haven. Warm and masculine, this style features neutral colors with dark metal and wood accents. A style that is literally inspired by the Industrial Revolution, it’s the perfect setting for productivity.

Traditional

Blink, and we have a softer, more traditional setting. Blues and pinks dominate a floral motif throughout the space, balanced by classic forms and clean lines. While this particular setting leans toward the feminine, simply switching up the color palette and wall decor will create a more masculine mood.

For the Kids

Adults are not the only ones working from home these days. With educational facilities closed for the remainder of the school year, kids need a place to do their school work. By creating a vibrant dedicated space they can tap into their creativity, focus on their online classes, and achieve success in the virtual classroom.

Wall Décor You’ll Adore

IMAX artisans from around the world create statement pieces in every style.

For an easy and relatively inexpensive way for consumers to refresh the look of a room, wall decor is the go-to decorative accessory. For furniture stores and retailers, it’s an easy add-on ticket item that doesn’t take up a lot of real estate and at IMAX, it’s one of our favorite product categories.

We constantly challenge our artisans and craftsmen to push their creativity to the next level and they never disappoint. This allows us to offer a diverse selection of wall decor including oil paintings, dimensional art, wall clocks, mirrors and handmade paper art, for every lifestyle. Recently Arda Bulak, Vice President of Marketing, accompanied our buying team to several of our wall decor suppliers to get a look behind the scenes.

“It was an incredible experience to see the artists working,” Arda shared. “Each painting truly is a work of art. What was even more striking were the boisterous personalities and fun work environment. Many of the artists have worked for years, creating countless works of art hanging in the homes of consumers.”

Like any artist’s studio, the facilities were full of canvases, drying racks and lots, and lots of brushes, cans and tubes of paint. Once the artist’s original painting is approved, they then recreate the work over and over, hanging finished canvases from ceiling racks to dry. Color, texture and beauty abound here, where hand-painted works of art are accessible to everyone.

“We often receive goods in the mail or pick them up from a local retailer and forget that these works of art have traveled across the world and come from the hands of true artists,” Bulak said. “Here at IMAX we take pride in bringing the work of artisans all over the world into your home.”
